The easiest and most direct way you can help Uganda Christian University is to assist a student to pay his or her school fees. Uganda Partners offers several kinds of scholarship assistance, including a General Scholarship Fund which helps the most needy students. Any size donation to this fund is most appreciated.  In addition, we offer the following opportunities to assist individual students:

University Designated Scholarships

Each year, UCU designates specific students to receive assistance. These students, usually known by the donors, must be approved by the University Faculty Scholarship Committee.  US donors pay a standardized rate regardless of the academic major.  Donors have the option of paying tuition and fees only, or including the cost of housing (room and board). To provide a University Designated Scholarship, refer to the Sponsorship Application.

Anglican Communion Scholarships in Theology

Anglican Communion Scholarships in Theology, formerly University Theology, provides students representing each of the 33 dioceses in the Church of Uganda with partial scholarships.  In an agreement with the Church of Uganda, UCU trains clergy to offset the increasing number of retiring clergy and the urgent need to build up the Church with well trained, evangelistic pastors to minister to the vast number of congregations throughout Uganda.  Scholarships rates vary by degree plan. To provide a Theology scholarship, send your check to Uganda Partners with "Anglican Communion" in the memo or donate online.

Scholars & Friends Scholarships 2008-2010

The Scholars and Friends Program consists about 33 students (one from each diocese in the Church of Uganda) and these students are selected in the early fall each year.  The students below are ranked according to their overall score on several metrics: Character, Leadership, Faith, and GPA. Additional notes indicate Student ID number, home diocese, and academic major.  Please click the link below to see the list of students currently needing sponsorship.  Sponsors pay $950 per year which is a partial scholarship toward their tuition, fees and housing costs.
